Okongo to receive wildlife

60 Wild deer will be released to the Okongo Local community in the Ohangwena, comprised of springboks and Oryx (Gemsbok). These animals are to be preserved and not hunted in the area to create a new wildlife area in the country where the animals can roam and the locals can learn to preserve wildlife at the same time. A lodge, however, has been turned down as an investment, rather that the local community was encouraged to take on the project by themselves.
